14 Sep 2009 - 1st Nursery Newsletter Autumn 2009

Dear Parents,

We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer and that your child is excited to be starting Nursery this term. We are really looking forward to getting to know you all over the next few weeks.
This half-term we are going to learn all about colours and shapes. You can help your child with colour and shape recognition by looking out for all the different shapes and colours you might see on the way to school. You might spot a window which is a rectangle shape and is painted green, or you might see some big red circle shaped tyres on a tractor.
If your child would like to borrow a book from the Nursery library to take home, simply remember to sign and date the red folder in the book area of the Nursery. Sharing books with your child is a very enjoyable and valuable activity.
All children should change into soft-soled shoes, such as plimsolls on arrival at Nursery. Children will need a warm, waterproof coat everyday as there is access to outdoor play whatever the weather conditions. A pair of wellingtons will be needed for outdoor play and Forest School activities. Please ensure that all items of clothing and footwear are clearly named.
Please encourage your child to leave their toys at home unless they are related to one of our topics. Prams and pushchairs should be left outside, to avoid congestion in the cloakroom area.
Thank you for your co-operation and support with these matters as it will help us tremendously with the smooth running of the Nursery sessions and will also help your child to become more independent.

Sincerely,

Mrs.Overfield Mrs.Williams
